DIY American Girl Doll Shopkins Blind Bags

Shopkins have been around for a while now and we’ve always gotten requests to make them for our dolls. I’ve always pushed the thought aside because regular Shopkins are already so tiny! To make them for our dolls they would have to be teeny! However, we’ve been using tweezers in some of our crafts just to hold small things in place and that’s when I thought we should give the Shopkins a try. This is an adorable craft. If you don’t want to make all the individual Shopkins to go in each bag, you can stick a bead in the bags to make them look  unopened. That way you can keep all your crafted Shopkins out for display.

Materials Needed:

TIPS-

  • We used glossy photo paper and peeled off the top layer to get the blind bag feel. However, a good substitute would be regular printer paper and cover each blind bag with packaging tape. You will get the same affect but they will be slightly stiffer.
  • If you want a lot of blind bags but don’t want to make each Shopkin just to hide away in the bags, use beads. Put different shaped beads in each blind bag so they look full!

Watch and tell us if you want a Shopkins shelf box to put the blind bags in!

What did you use to punch out the craft foam? Most of the punches Ice seen won’t punch through foam.

I love your crafts! But, I have a problem, I don’t have craft foam or puffy paint. I know you don’t need those items to make the “Shopkins”, you can just put beads in the “blind bags”, but I want my dolls to be able to “open” them and find out what they got.

Hi! I think you should make a mini snowglobe! I collect them so I thought that be cool. Also, not to be rude but can I have a shoutout if you do? I’d also like to know what you use to make your printables. This craft was cool!

Rudy, you are very, very talented!

Would you please tell me what program you use when you make your printables? I have some ideas, but I don’t know what to use.
