DIY American Girl Toaster
You might have already guessed that we were planing on doing a DIY American Girl Toaster from the teaser photos in the Pop Tarts video. Well, we hope you and your dolls love the one we made. Crazy fact, We have never owned a toaster. Growing up my mom did not like anything to be on the counter (which now I understand, love and I have followed her madness) So a toaster was out. Bringing out a toaster and putting it up every time could get messy on regular basis with all the crumbs, so we just learned how to use the small oven. So, we had to do a little research on this craft to see what style we should make. I think we ended up with a pretty basic model that everyone will recognize.
What else do you like to toast besides bread and Pop Tarts? Maybe we can craft more for this toaster!

Materials Needed:
- Craft Foam
- Reflective Card Stock
- Scissors
- Buttons/Beads
- Hot Glue
TIPS
- The thicker the craft foam, the better. We used a 5mm from Hobby Lobby. Michaels also sells a 6mm which would also be perfect. If you don’t have a thicker one, the thin will work, you will just have to layer up. Remember that you want it thicker than the pop tarts so they fit in the slots.
- We went for a stainless steel look, but you can make your toaster any color to match your dolls kitchen. I’m thinking a blue one would be great for Grace to match her mixer! Whatever color or design you choose, just remember that a card stock will be best because it gives it the smooth look.
- For the darkness adjuster we used a button that you see in the video, and then put a dowel cap on top of it. It’s the same one we used in our DIY American Girl EOS craft.

This is a really great video! And its also very helpful, because AG and OG both don’t have a toaster! I know its a lot to ask, but could you make a video on all your dolls you have, their personalities, names, etc. THAT would be really cool! Because I keep seeing different dolls in your videos popup, and i really wan to know what their names are! Keep being awesome! Thanks!

I think you should make Waffles and Bagels to go in this! My dolls need more breakfast food, so really anything (Even to go outside the Toaster) would be great!

Also were would you suggest getting puffy paint? And do you have certain days a week you put videos out? If so when?

We don’t have specific days of the week that we post. Sometimes a craft may take longer than expected so we don’t want to over promise. Hobby Lobby and Michaels both have a great selection of puffy paint. Just make sure it says dimensional on the bottle.
