If you follow our Instagram you know that we love to go to Disney. Every time we post from Disneyland we get requests to make Disney inspired crafts. So, here is a craft that will help you and your dolls prepare for your big Disney trip! When visiting the parks, having a pair of Mickey Ears is a must! They are so fun and cute!
Under materials needed you will notice a Cricut file. This is a file I created so you can have your Cricut machine cut out the ears perfectly. Since I used a craft foam for the ears I wanted to try cutting it with my new Cricut Maker. If you have ever tried cutting a circle with craft foam you know that it is almost impossible to get a clean edge. It’s because of the way the craft foam forms around your scissors when cutting. By using my Cricut Maker, I was able to get a perfect cut! The edges are beautiful! Below you will find the step by step for the Cricut cut method.
You can also use other materials besides craft foam for the ears. A few ideas are glitter canvas sheets, card stock, paperboard covered in scrap fabric, recycled plastic, etc. Get creative and use what you have on hand or what’s easy to get!
Materials Needed:
- Skinny Craft Sticks (like long coffee stir sticks)
- Glue
- Craft Foam, Felt or Glitter Sheets
- Cotton Balls *optional for ear stuffing
- Ribbon *optional for bow
- Elastic *optional for hat
- Doll Mickey Ears Cricut File
- Mickey Ears printable
Watch and tell us what type of Mickey ears you like!
Cutting Mickey Ears with your Circuit
Step 1:
Open the doll Mickey Ears File and select make it. The file should look like the below picture when opened.
Step 2:
Select your material. For this craft I used regular sticky back craft foam and sticky back glitter craft foam.
Step 3:
Set the pressure to “more”. I do this because the craft foam I used is thicker than the paper thin foam.
Step 4:
Load your material & cut.
Step 5:
Peel your ears off and fold them together sticky back to sticky back as shown. Glue the ears to your headband or hat.

I find it at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s. You can also use regular craft foam and double sided tape OR they have sticky sheets right beside the craft foam in the craft stores.

I’m having a hard time finding the file as well. I’ve clicked on your link but nothing happens.
It is listed under “Materials Needed” towards the top of the post.
I have checked the link and it works. Do you already have Design Space downloaded? If you do it should open right into the project ready to cut.
WHERE ARE THE PRINTAVLEABLE AT???? ???????? ??????????????????????????????
It’s listed under materials needed.
These mickey ears are so cool! Can you please make a replica of Nanea’s Family Market out of foam board with the accessories included? And could the foam board preferably not be 1/4 inch thick since I can’t buy those from the store? I would REALLY appreciate it! Thank you so much for these cool DIYs. I only wish I discovered it sooner…
These are amazing! Thanks for sharing! I’ve made ears but have been trying to figure out how to make the hat. I would love to make Mickey fudge pops, dole whip and Disney inspired snacks.
