DIY American Girl Doll Mermaid Tail Costume
DIY American Girl Doll Mermaid Tail Costume
Halloween will be here before you know it and we always need a few extra costumes. I feel like this has been the year of mermaids and unicorns so why not add fuel to that fire with some fun mermaid costumes? These are so cute and simple to. Any age will enjoy this craft as it is kid approved. Each mermaid costume set will be under $3 with extra material leftover! We got regular felt, light glitter felt, and heavy glitter felt. If you just stay simple you can do this craft for under $1. Also, we did add bling (sequins) to the blue mermaid as an experiment and it’s the girls favorite.
Heads Up! I did not do a voiceover in this video. It’s such an easy craft that it shouldn’t hinder you from replicating. However, if you have any questions, please ask them here in the comments below! It really is super easy!
Materials Needed:
- Felt
- Glue
- Sequins *Optional

Adele, you can make the pattern for the tail longer and wider if you want it to cover the doll’s feet and go all the way around. That’s what I did, and it worked!

OMG this is adorable! I wish it went all the way around and you couldn’t see the doll’s feet, but oh well!
