Cups • When I’m Gone • Grace Remix
Cups • When I’m Gone
I have to admit that ever since Grace Thomas joined our doll family we have been busy! She is so much fun to play with! From her baking to her outfits, everything is relatable and we absolutely love her. Does anyone else feel the same way about this GOTY? I mean, we have crafted for this doll every day! And it started before she even arrived! Her collection is just too cute for words, and the ideas just keep flowing. We can’t stop them!
My oldest daughter and I decided to have a little stop motion fun today. Stop motion is a lot of work so I knew when we started that I had to push through and finish. An entire day and a few cups of coffee later, it is complete. Since Grace is a baker and she has the travel theme, I felt that the song Cups with its music video was the best fit for Grace. The Cups music video displays a baker who has bigger dreams to travel and even shows a postcard of Paris. Perfect right?! Well, it’s not a perfect replica of the music video, and a large part of that is due to the fact that it’s hard to get an American Girls hands to cooperate with the props! But, we did the best we could and we love the results. The beautiful voice you hear in the video is my daughter’s. I thought it would be best for her to sing it since Grace is just a little girl herself. Also, the cups rhythm was also recorded by my daughter. We practiced that for a long time before we got it down to perfection. Can I say dedication?! My Launa rocks!
Please watch, like, and share the fun video below!

Wow, your daughter did such a good job singing and with the rhythm! It looked like a lot of work to do all the stop motion, though! Good job! It was really cute! I think you should definitely repost this again at the end of 2015 when Grace is getting ready to be archived.

Thank you! I thought the same thing about the end of the year. I’m noticing how much everyone LOVES Grace this year, almost more than other GOTY dolls, so I felt it fit. I know I will miss her being in the spotlight and it’s only January! lol

I originally liked this GOTY doll because she looks similar to my daughter with brown hair and blue eyes. After hearing her story I love her even more as one of my dreams was to run my own bakery and I studied French in high school and college! Meant to be!

She does have a great story!

Your video is too cute…loved it! My Granddaughter and I both love Grace, too, and I’ve seen many positive comments about her online. I think that Grace may end up being among the most popular Girls of the Year ever!

I agree with you on that!
