American Girl Hot Lunch Set • DIY Version
American Girl Hot Lunch Set
A few days ago American Girl released several new items. Some of my personal favorites are the American Girl Hot Lunch Set, the Slow Cooker Dinner set, the Science Fair Set, Sports Storage Bench, and several of Julie’s items. I already made an American Girl version of a crockpot, but I have to admit I love how colorful and bright the new set it! I might just need to add that to my collection! I also thought it would be fun to try and replicate some of these new release items. First up, the Hot Lunch Set! This was actually pretty quick to replicate. As always the longest part was just letting several coats of Mod Podge dry. The result is worth it in my opinion! You should have everything you need for this craft already on hand. And, if you don’t, feel free to improvise! I did for the carrots.
On the printables below I also included the label for the chips from the American Girl Beach Blanket Set. You can never have enough potato chips this summer right?!
Leave a comment with the next new release item I should replicate! Should it be the Science Fair set or one of the new hats?
Materials Needed:
- American Girl Cheeseburger <<This was made in a previous tutorial
- Scissors
- Pen/Pencil
- Tape
- Mod Podge
- Recycled Paperboard
- Glue Stick
- Craft Paint
- Yellow & Orange Foam (I was out of orange foam which is preferred, so I just used an old orange folder as a substitute!)
- Scrap pieces of cardboard
- Exacto Knife
- Hot Lunch Printables
Watch & Tell us what you think!

A lunch room might be coming soon as my daughter has requested it too! A vacuum cleaner? Sounds fun, we will see what we can do!

The Grandkids had a lot of fun with this! They had such a good time playing with the game printables yesterday; that we made the hot lunch cafeteria today.
Both the boys & girls enjoyed this one – helping to cut and tape, while Grandma used the handy-dandy glue gun. Those cute little milk bottles were a hit!
June 30, 2015 at 2:53 pm –
I’m so glad you all had a fun time together making this set! It makes me want to create more and more printables!
