DIY American Girl Doll School Locker

We are still in back to school mode over here and we finally decided that our dolls need lockers. We never got the American Girl locker set because we thought one wasn’t enough. I think at least four lockers should be lined up together. If stacked, possibly even more! An entire wall of lockers would be so cool and great storage too! I took a poll for this craft on our Facebook group because I couldn’t decide if I should use a recycled box or make it from scratch with foam board.     I’ll need some kind of power tools to cut 1/2 inch foam materials (arthritis). Your edges are so straight and smooth, I assume that you are using a saw or something? Please suggest what is best for these large, complex projects. Links (promos are fine) to Home Depot or Lowe’s would be GREAT!

      I use the FoamWerks tools that I’ve linked in previous posts. You can find them on Amazon and some Hobby Lobby stores carry them!

    OMG these are PERFECT for my ag dolls!!! I’m 10 years old and just started 5th grade and these look EXACTLY like the ones at my school!!!:) also this is kind of a weird question but you seem to have a lot of ag doll things so where do put it all?? Do you have like a ag doll room where your kids go when they wanna play??????

    Aeryn oh i’m in 7th and that is the grade were all the youth groups and churches move you up to the bigger kid groups (I think it would better if they did one transition at a time) I am trying to adjust to 2 new groups at once right now and I wasn’t ready to leave the old ones:/

    Hi rudy, I love this craft. I just started middle school, so these lockers would be great since they look just like the ones at my school! Can you maybe make doll backpacks? I think it would be a cool addition to the school supply stuff.

    Aeryn I don’t have snap chat I’d have to go to public school sometime to see what it was like to correctly number it on a scale from 1-10 but i’d give homschooling a 7 or an 8. I am NOT ready to be a teen but I have no choice. and on a scale of 1-10 i’d give my doll a 6 leaning towards 5. (I’m not ready to grow out of dolls but their not as fun anymore:/

    I like your lockers, the coordinating colors give them such a fun and inviting look. Do you have any tips for gluing the shelf in without getting the glue everywhere? That’d be my problem. ?

      Apply the hot glue to the three sides, hold it with one hand, put the other hand in the locker and using your thumb and pinky slightly push out the walls. This will let you slide in the shelf without smearing the glue on the side walls. Then push the outer walls to the shelf so it’s tight.
