DIY American Girl Egg Decorating Kits Craft

We couldn’t let Easter go by without our dolls having a fun activity to do together. Every year we love decorating and dying easter eggs, so we though that was the perfect craft to make for our dolls! This DIY American Girl Egg Decorating Kits Craft is perfect for all ages and it’s very simple.

Materials Needed:

TIPS:

  • Use card stock instead of regular printer paper. Michael’s has card stock sales where you can get a pack for $2 (normally $5). That’s a great deal and the time I always load up!
  • Scoring these tiny boxes might be tricky. To make sure you score them correctly, use a straight edge as your guide. That way the boxes fold properly and don’t look wonky. *Thanks Laura!
  • Don’t have craft foam? If you have construction paper you can stack a few scraps together, glue them with a glue stick, and then hole punch it. That way you still get the thickness you need for your tablets.

Watch and tell us your favorite Easter Tradition!

I actually made a mini egg carton out of a full sized one! Cut it down to size, add a few pieces, paint it, and you’re done!

Rudy, these are wonderful!! I am still looking for the reduced boxes so I can make the peeps! Could you explain what you do to get the reduced images? Do you reduce with the computer or the scanner? I thought maybe Kinko would have scanners that would reduce but I have only been able to find the cardboard boxes for the bunny peeps not the chicks. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Sharon

Peeps has changed their boxes! I have created one from scratch since the new boxes don’t look like the old ones. It will be up soon. If you find a box you can scan it and reduce the size in your printer settings.
