American Girl TV Console

If you have made the American Girl TV and the American Girl DVDs, it is time you make this awesome American Girl TV Console to go with them!  It’s a great place to put your doll’s TV on and store the DVDs.  I also like it because I can see all the DVDs.  They don’t have to be put away where you can’t see them.  Let’s face it, we made it, we want to display it!

Shopping list:

1 – 1/2’’ @ 1’ x 2’ (Plywood or any 1/2’’ piece of wood)
1 – 1/4’’ @ 11’’ x 9’’ (Plywood or any 1/4’’ piece of wood)
Wood Glue
5/8’’ Nails for 18 Gauge Nailer

Cut List:

1 – 1/2’’ @ 8’’ x 3 3/4’’ – Top of Console
2 – 1/2’’ @ 8’’ x 3 1/2’’ – Sides of Console
1 – 1/2’’ @ 7’’ x 3 1/2’’ – Bottom of Console
1 – 1/2’’ @ 6” x 3 1/2’’ – Console Shelf
1 – 1/4’’ @ 9’’ x 6 3/4’’ – Back of Console

18 Gauge Nailer
Tape Measure
Miter Saw
Table Saw
Hearing Protection 
Safety Glasses 
Pencil
Sanding Block

Step 1:

Attach one side of the console to the bottom.  Use wood glue and nail into place.

Step 2:

Attach the opposite side to the bottom piece.

Step 3:

Attach the top piece to the two sides.  You will leave 1/2″ overhang on each side.  The front will overhang and the back will be flush with the sides.

Step 4:

Attach the back piece.  Use wood glue and nail into place.

Step 5:

Insert the shelf.
