How to Make American Girl Doll Kanani’s Necklace

Kanani is such a wonderful doll! She really is one of a kind from her looks to her story. Unfortunately, since she is one of a kind and also retired, it’s hard to find her collection items. Sometimes you can find them but most of the time they have a high price tag. That seems crazy since her whole collection was so cheap compared to Grace or Lea GOTY! Anyways, we decided to craft her meet necklace for fun. We showed two different options in the video. It’s not exact but it still looks great on her! And, we even got compliments on it from locals on the Big Island!

Materials Needed:

  • Brown Beads
  • 1/4″ Silk Brown Ribbon cut 22-24″ *it’s better to cut down than to run out
  • Kanani Necklace Pattern *if printing the design
  • Lilac Paint *if painting the beads

    This is beautiful! can you make books and a computer pulled up to a writing thing like google docs? I want to be a writer when I grow up so i’d love a computer pulled up to a writing thing like google docs for my dolls (I am currently writing a book that I hope to self publish via Amazon) are you enjoying your vacation? I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii I went to Mackinac island but it isn’t the same.

    I’m so excited to see crafts made for Kanani! A sweet friend of my daughter gave us our first American Girl doll about 5 years ago. It was her Kanani doll(which was missing her necklace:)! She was getting older and when we moved wanted my daughter to have it to remember her by. Fast forward 5 years…we have many, many new dolls…a beautiful doll house (stocked with TONS of your ideas, of course), and a tree house (in a real tree…yep my hubby helps me out big time), I guess you could say we are all in American Girl fans!! Love, love, love this craft!
