Kit’s Chicken Keeping Set

I know I have already mentioned how much I LOVE Kit’s Chicken Keeping Set but I can’t stop!  It’s too darn cute!  So cute, that I felt the need to have my daughter match her!  And, I have already started making the missing components for this set, like a much needed chicken coop!  But first about the outfit.  It comes with the following as listed on American Girl:

  • Blue checked overalls with a shaped waistband and crisscross straps with pink buttons
  • A button-down floral shirt
  • A matching hairbow
  • Buckled brown shoes
  • A cute little plush chicken with an embroidered face and a soft weighted body to help her sit upright

The little plush chicken feels like a beanie baby.  It does not come with feet, that was a question that I’ve seen a lot of people ask.  Oh, and it’s about to have a little family to take care of, so make sure you stay tuned for that!

There are not enough great things I can say about this outfit.  There are buttons on the front making it look like a real overall set although they are just for looks.  There are also buttons on the back placed over the velcro.  The brown buckle shoes are shiny and too darling.  I can see our Kit wearing this most of the time!

**Here are a few close ups of the matching girls dress.  It’s not an exact match as it’s a dress and not overalls, but my daughter is in love!  We only got the dress because the shirt wasn’t all that cute, at least to me.  So, we improvised with our own and added a homemade matching hairbow!

My husband made me a chicken coop using your pattern. It is stained in honey oak with a dark green roof. How can I send you a picture?
