I am so excited to be able to share this awesome craft with you.  This is a guest feature post and it was done by American Girl Ideas fan, Rhonda. I will be posting step by step instructions as well as pictures below, but please feel free to ask questions!  Don’t be shy!

Materials Needed:

  1. (2) Empty & Washed Clorox Bottles
  2. (2) Dollar Tree Glasses (for chair bases)
  3. 1 Small Plastic Plate (Circo Target)
  4. 1 Medium Plastic Plate (Circo Target)
  5. Hot Glue
  6. Spray Paint & Kiltz Primer
  7. Pruning Shears  or scissors
  8. Blue fabric & batting or blue sheet foam
  9. (2) Heavy Duty Washer for the base of the chairs
  10. (2) Medium Sized Candle Cups (See Pic below)

**Tips-The Clorox Brand bottle work best.  It has better shape and thickness.  The best to cut with is Miracle Gro titanium blade hand held pruners.

Step 1:

Mark bottom of Clorox bottle about 2 inches above the ridge. Secure your marker and just spin the bottle around to draw the line.

Step 2:

Repeat at the top.

Step 3:

Cut with pruning shears. If you cut in this direction holding up to the light, you can see your cut line.

It should look like this.

Step 4:

Now cut inside the curved area on the bottle where the handle is.

Step 5:

Shape the back of the chair to how you want it to look.

Step 6:

Cut the edge off the round piece.  See picture below.

Step 7:

Hot glue the chair back to the seat.  Use clips to hold together while drying.

Step 8:

Pop the stem off of the dollar tree glass.

Step 9:

Add a candle cup to get the proper height.

Step 10:

Paint the chair yellow and the base white.

Step 11:

Make a blue cushion for the seats using fabric and stuffing or just a sheet of blue foam cut to shape.

Step 12:

Get your table supplies together and hot glue.

Step 13:

Paint the same as chairs.

And you’re done!  Once it is completely dry you can decorate and play!  Isn’t it just adorable?!  Please leave comments below giving Rhonda a big thanks for sharing this with us!

      Have you ever thought about making a treat seat? The chair that attaches to the edge of the table so the doll can eat with her “family?” It’s similar to your wooden chair, with extensions that fit above and below and table edge to hold the chair up to the table, similar to a portable high chair…

      What is used for the table leg? How tall is the leg so I can find something similiar so I get the correct height? Also, the chair base heighth? Thanks!

      Looks great but what is used for the leg of the table?

          She used an empty tube. I think it was a beauty product. I would use something similar in look and just make sure it is sturdy.
