This is the new It Seams Perfect set by Our Generation from Target.  It is a newer set so unfortunately it has not hit all Targets yet and I haven’t seen it available online.  If you spot it online, let us know!  It retails for $29.99 (prices may vary by location). Crazy enough, I think my favorite item in this set is the dress pattern and envelope!  I wanted to make some a while back when I first made our sewing machine, but I never got around to it.  I might need to make some more to add to this collection now!  Oh, and this is the third Our Generation set where I have been cheated of something that was supposed to be included.  The package states that 8 buttons are included.  However, I opened mine up and only four were there!  Good thing I’m a crafter and I have an endless supply of buttons on hand.

Included in the It Seams Perfect set

  1. 1 Dress Maker Form
  2. 1 Sewing Machine Table
  3. 1 Chair
  4. 1 Non Functioning Sewing Machine
  5. 1 Round Sewing Box
  6. 1 Ruler
  7. 1 Pair of Scissors
  8. 2 Spools of Thread
  9. 1 Buttonhole Measure Tool
  10. 1 Chalk Pencil
  11. 1 Thimble
  12. 8 Buttons *I only got four!!!*
  13. 1 Measuring Tape (NOT doll size)
  14. 1 Pin Cushion
  15. 1 Doll Dress Pattern with Envelope
  16. 1 Roll of Fabric (11 3/4″ x 21 1/2″)

Watch & tell us your favorite item from the set!

The pin cushion? EASY FIX!!:D All you have to do is buy(or make) a mini pouf, exacto knife the tomato-looking pin cushion off and glue the pouf to the other part of the pin cushion (bracelet thing)
      And Volia!

So happy, I found one of these sets today! I am in the Pittsburgh, PA area, I noticed one listed on Craigslist a few days ago and one on Ebay for the area as well which tells me that they are starting to stock them in the Pittsburgh Target stores. Youngstown, OH has nothing though. Just thought I’d put that out there for anyone in these areas that might be trying to find them. I got the last one on the shelf at the time, but there was a whole stack of OG boxes sitting there waiting to be unpacked.

No sign of OG Lori stuff though and the mini dolls are still full price here.

Maybe a pincushion with a piece of elastic for a wristband would work?

Yea, another great review! I’d love to see the completed dress and see how easy it is with your girl “helping.” ?
I knew I’d love this set!

It fits super tight Sharon, so not sure how well that would work. I think the issue is mainly because OG dolls are a more slender build than AG. It sounded like it happened mainly when you were putting it on/taking it off. Good idea though!

Whew! Thank goodness this one didn’t leave a mark. I do think we need to make our own though because this one is just not good enough!

Rudy, I love the pattern!! One of the reasons that I wanted the set with the blue sewing machine was the Butterick patterns it had with it. I love the detail – that this has a pattern in it. I would love to see you make pattern envelopes!!
Flo, I was wondering if on the inside of your pin cushion is there room to glue a piece of felt to protect your dolls arm?

So cute! I’m hoping to come across this set somewhere along the way or better yet, that it shows up on the Target website. Great review, lots of good info.

I’d like to see you duplicate the pin cushion-and here’s why. In reviews of the previous sewing set, several people commented that it not only didn’t look all that realistic, but that if you actually put it on the doll, it left marks on them when you took it off, ugh! I’ve never put mine on a doll because of that, I’m half afraid to.

We made a sewing machine and it is linked in the post above. You can make it like I did but then sand down the edges to make it more round like the OG one. Mine is generic, but you can paint stitch options, a brand and whatever you want on it!
