How can your dolls send mail without a mailbox?  That’s exactly what I was thinking when I saw Grace’s cute little postcards.  Well, making a doll mailbox was so easy that I just had to share the steps with you.  I have been seeing the doll mailboxes on Pinterest and other boards.  Every time I saw one I thought, oh yeah that’s cute.  But I never thought to make one until I spotted the mailbox at Target!  I walked into Target the other day and in the One Spot there they were.  The perfect size for American Girl Dolls and they were only a dollar!  Perfect size, perfect price!  The only thing I needed to add was a stand.  I used a candle stick that I had gotten from Hobby Lobby.  I actually have several of these candle sticks from Hobby Lobby because they always seem to come in handy.  I spray painted it red and glued it on to the mailbox.  That’s it!  Simple and cute!

Crazy enough, the first time I spotted the mailboxes at Target the bin was full.  I went in today to grab a few more, and they were ALL GONE!  I thought to myself, hum, there must be a lot of doll lovers in my area!  What else could you use them for?

Also,  if you want to make your dolls some cute little Valentine’s Day Cards, you can go HERE for my printables.  They are free and easy to make!

I got a standard looking mailbox, but they had several colors to choose from.  Pink, red, purple.  I actually love how mine turned out, the bright red seems to be a favorite of Grace’s!  Stay tuned, I want to make some postcards!  If you have done this project or made a different mailbox, leave a comment and share with us.  I love to hear different ideas!

Adorable! You were wondering why it was gone when you came back to Target, well some people use this mailbox to put their valentine treats or cards that kids from school received from another students. Thanks for the idea.

There’s noway that mailbox would hold all my kids Valentine’s from school! Every year they home with an overflowing bag of goodies. I think things like that have blown up over the years because when I was in school, the mailbox would have been the perfect size for all my little cards. Not these days! They get a goodie bag from every student!
