We are so excited to be a part of Doll Days Blog Doll STEM Camp and we’ve enjoyed following along with her so far!  If you didn’t know already, DollDays.com is hosting a fabulous STEM Camp that you can participate in with your dolls! There are several fun crafts and printables to keep you busy over the summer break. Our contribution to Doll Days STEM Camp is Luciana’s Maker Station that retails for $100. This DIY version using Foamboard should be around only $10 depending on what you already have on hand, and if you get supplies with craft store coupons. (It could be less!) You may notice that we also painted ours different colors from the original. Since we’ve been making replicas, we’ve always used the same colors. This leaves us with two almost identical items. There’s really no need for two of everything so from now on you may see new colors used in our DIY’s. I really like that now we have two workbenches for our dolls and even though they are very similar, the colors really make them unique from each other.

Materials Needed:

Cut List:

  • 1 – 3/16’’ @ 7’’ x 3 1/2’’ – Bottom of Storage
  • 1 – 1/2’’ @ 8’’ x 1 7/16’’ – Back of Storage
  • 2 – 1/2’’ @ 3 1/2’’ x 1 1/2’’ – Sides of Storage
  • 1 – 1/2’’ @ 8’’ x 1 1/2’’ – Front of Storage
  • 1 – 1/2’’ @ 9 3/4’’ x 8’’ – Back Wall
  • 1 – 1/2’’ @ 8’’ x 2 1/2’’ – Shelf
  • 2 – 3/16’’ @ 1’’ x 1’’ – Shelf Supports
  • 4 – 1/2’’ @ 6 1/4’’ x 1’’ – Legs – Trim each leg end to 7 degrees so that the leg will sit flush with the bottom of storage and floor.
  • 4 – 1/2’’ @ 7’’ x 1’’ – Leg supports
  • 1 – 3/16’’ @ 7’’ x 5 3/16’’ – Bottom Shelf
  • 2 – 3/16’’ @ 4 13/16’’ x 4 5/16’’ – Storage Doors *Cut 1/4″ inch shorter if using hinges because they will not be flush with back wall. There needs to be space.

Tools Used:

  • FoamWerks Cutting System 32″
    • You don’t have to use this tool. You can use an X-acto knife, measure and mark every cut. However, this tool saves so much time and makes it easy to cut through the foamboard with one swipe.

Watch and have fun crafting!

You did it again, Rudy!!! Wow! I love to make your diy’s. I bought the working station because I couldn’t figure out how to make it, but still I can make this as a work bench for my boy dolls.
