The thing that I hate about American girl is that they are making Goty dolls with too similar of a story. Like Saige and Nicki they both like horses and animals, Isabelle and Marisol they both dance! Skylar manages to convince there mom that his is more important. Although angry and frusterated, Skyla goes. At the game, Sklar falls and breaks his arm. They then are about to go to the hospital, but Skla cant go with, so her aunt brings her home. Finally, 2 days later, they return from the hospital. An hour later, the dad returns home.

My American Girl thought idea is a girl called Meg. She is a keen water-skier from Florida. She has been skiing since she was three and wakeboarding from five years old. Meg is now thinking about entering a water-ski competition. But can she do it….she needs to believe in herself!

I thought this was a great idea for an American Girl of the year because:

– You have never had a water skier doll.

I would love to see an Asian GOTY.

They could either have her be adopted or a 2nd generation immigrant. Both would have the struggle of not knowing much about their country of origin due to having grown up only in America but would still most likely face certain stereotypes and if she was a 2nd generation Asian would have expectations from her family that she may not agree with.

Just random idea for goty though if my chance thy do use it know it won’t be for long time. A girl in wheelchair with light brown hair green eyes skin tone doesn’t matter as tjat is not what girls look at and she should be on a wheelchair basketball team and as hobby play on softball team that doesn’t discriminate with a pinch runner. Her favorite colors are,purple,aqua and lime green. She does enjoy some more girly stiff but her favorite things are definitely basketball and baseball. Food allergies are optional and she generally likes most foods.

Also to buy the wheelchair separately on just like you doll cost even more money and doll is expensive as is. And ATM American girl is really lacking in doll outfit choices. I also agree that american girl needs to become more racially and culturally diverse with the new dolls. The retiring of Cecile was a bad move on their part. regarding the GOTY dolls, I heard that it takes them 4 years to develop a girl of the year doll and do all the research for her. Unfortunatly it’s unlikely that they will be able to make a black or other non-white goty soon because they’ve already started on 2016 and most likeely 2017 as well.

I do have an idea for a goty though…

STORY: 12 year old Amber loves to skateboard, it’s her whole life pretty much. But, one day she’s trying a super duper risky trick and ends up hurting her leg beyond repair. She ends up having to get a prosthetic leg. She wants to give up since skatboarding is harder with her leg. but, she learns not to give up and she learns how to skate again and enters a big contest for skateboarding and wins.

Being a girl skateboarder (one of few), I think that this is a really good idea. It also incorporates the idea of a disability. ?

Well I’m a kid who liked these dolls SOO much when I was younger. I (being white) probably wouldn’t have liked a black doll so much when I was younger because I wouldn’t have really connected to her so much. However. they are called AMERICAN girls, not WHITE girls, so I think american girl really needs to make a girl with diversity. There are so many unused ideas and they are starting to re-do things. I feel like american girl was at its prime in 2000-2010 ish. And now is sort of going Down hill. Does anyone see what I mean? Like now they have mini dolls at McDonald’s..that wasn’t something I was expecting from them…NOT SAYING ITS BAD. also, I think they should make a girl with a disability or a black doll. I’d love to see a GOTY who is into STEM, maybe something like robotics, or making video games, or she’s just really good at maths and wants to join the school maths team. But she’s worried about joining, because there are only boys on the team. And her dad, who is in the Army, just told the family that he would be deployed again soon. In the end she joins the maths(or robotics, or video games programming) team at school, because she knows it would make her dad proud.

I would want her to be black, or middle eastern, or latina. Possibly even Muslim, because AG could address a lot of relevant issues with prejudice through a book if they did it properly. Her mom could be a stay at home mom, but also a first generation immigrant, which is another hot issue in the US right now. And even though she’s a STEM kid, she would be into a lot of girly stuff and be fashionable as well, because there’s a “super nerdy smart kid” trope on a lot of kids’ shows that is just totally untrue. She would also like basketball, and basically she would be a more well rounded kid with actual issues to deal with, unlike most recent GOTYs.

I believe that AG should have a handicapped doll, and being handicapped myself I could at least relate to her somehow. I’m tired of AG making non-handicapped dolls. It makes me kind of upset cause the only thing they do to make a doll not be in perfect condition is break a bone. Seriously. I have never broken a bone in my life. All my problems I’ve had I was born with. I also would like them to make a doll with brown medium length curly hair. I also have a few ideas of an ideal GOTY.

Karsyn is a young 9 year old girl who has mild Cerabral Palsey. She has a strong passion for filming and hopes to be a producer someday. She lives in Atlanta and when she visits St Louis for the summer because of a surgery, she meets a young girl named Alexa who has mild Cerabral Palsey as well, and she is having her first surgery at the same hospital as Karsyn.

They become BFFs and hang out everyday until their surgerys.

As Karsyn gets out of her surgery, which is very quick, she sees Alexa going in to her room. She askes her parents if she can stay to see Alexa. Her parents agree and they stay. When Karsyn sees Alexa’s parents in a worried state, Karsyn herself gets worried. When she askes what happened, She gets an unpleasant answer. Something has gone wrong in Alexa’s arms and she’ll be ok but she’ll need to have an extra surgery to install some metal and get her arm in its origional
