American Girl Laundry Room
American Girl Laundry Room
A few days ago I shared a guest post and featured a DIY washing machine for your dolls. It was a fabulous idea and I received a few messages asking if printables and a video could be shared. You know it’s a brilliant craft when there are requests for more information on how to replicate it! I love that! My daughter and I have made a video together and we even made some new printables! I got the laundry basket you see in the video from the Target One Spot a few months ago and it came in a pack of two. I’ve also seen people get them at the dollar stores. The shelves on the wall are just dollar crates from Michael’s. I put two cup hooks in the bottom of the crates to hold the rod for the dolls clothes, you know, for the ones that can’t go in the dryer and need to hang up to dry. The purple and blue baskets came from a jewelry box I got from Target which have been clearance and you might not be able to find them anymore. The sink, which I love in this room, was originally made for one of our kitchens. But, since we have more than one kitchen we stole it and I think it has found a new home. The same with the matching counter. You can find the sink tutorial HERE.
Materials Needed For American Girl Laundry Room
- American Girl Tide Printables
- American Girl Washer & Dryer Printables
- Laundry Room Picture Printables
- American Girl Gain Printables
Tips-
- I used a wipe container that already had a color I liked so I didn’t have to paint it. I’m not a patient person when it comes to paint.
- If your container comes with the printed on label, you can wipe it off using acetone nail polish remover.
- Use card stock for the washer & dryer printables. Even though you’re just gluing them on the container, this will help so you don’t see the wipes logo through the paper when it’s glued on.

Because I have no clue when it comes to sizing… Could you tell me the measurements of the crates hanging on the laundry room wall?
I am finally going to make my daughter a laundry room… If I can figure out how to make some of these things that go in one lol.

I can’t find where to download the printable for the washer and dryer. Am I missing something?? I love it — want to do it for my niece. Thanks.

The washer and dryer printables are too big to fit the wipes containers. What percentage did you print them out at to make them fit?

I always just make sure my printer settings are set on “print entire image” instead of fill entire paper.

Those look so cool! My sister would TOTALLY LOVE THOSE, if I made them for her for her birthday! (P.S., She’s totally ADORES her American Girl dolls, and most of the other ones that she doesn’t have, yet!) PLEASE ANSWER THIS: What if we don’t have baby wipes and we can’t buy any? What would we use, then?

The printables don’t appear to be to scale. They are just too big. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you so much for these wonderful ideas. My daughter is loving them!

I think that another thing that’s out of place is putting white clothes in with the colored clothing…. hopefully the color won’t bleed!

I just purchased the teal-blue Pampers wipes (baby fresh) and unwrapped them. Went to go and peel the label, and its not a sticker! Now what? Any suggestions?
September 6, 2015 at 6:39 pm –
Oh no! Use sticker paper and print out the same color on it to cover or paint it.
