DIY American Girl Doll Washer & Dryer

For this post we are featuring a fun guest.  Rhonda has an amazing do it yourself project for us and just in time too!  With all the craziness that happened with the Our Generation Laundry Set, it was nice to see this amazing craft work done.  And no money was spent!  Everything that was used for this project was on hand.  I absolutely enjoy a recycled American Girl craft.

Original Washer & Dryer Idea from Fawn pictured below on Pinterest.

Materials Needed:

  1. Pampers Wipe Case
  2. Empty Fruit Cup
  3. Front Load Washing Machine printables (found on Google images)
  4. Washer suds printables (found on Google images)
  5. Gatorade bottle *optional (for the inside drum)
  6. Silver Tape
  7. Glue

Don’t forget to make your laundry detergent and dryer sheets with these FREE printables:

Step 1: Paint

Paint the wipes container the color of your choice.  You could also leave it white, or get a wipes container that is already a pretty color!  Also, paint the fruit cup and gatorade bottle silver.

Step 2: Cut

Cut the rim of the fruit cup off so you can use it on the front door.

Step 3: Glue

Glue the suds printable onto the front of the door and then glue on the fruit cup rim around it.  Then glue the remaining fruit cup on the back of the door.

Step 4: Finishing Touches

Add a few finishing details like painting the handle silver, or use silver tape.  Glue on the lint trap to the front of the washer.  Add your own touches!

I still don’t understand how you put the Gatorade bottle in. Can you show pics of how it is used?

I must have missed something. What is the bottle used for? Where did you get the selection panel? I must have missed it. Thanks.

Hi Rudy! What a clever idea! I am doing a small AG house out of an old dresser for my girls, I want to add the washer/dryer. Where can I get the google image print outs you show? Thanks!

Great job Rudy, I love your printables but I use full sheet labels (8.5 x 11). You can get them at any stationary store. No need for glue.

I love that idea! I got those too because I wanted to make stickers for the Science Fair Set since the AG version has stickers.

It’s the best when we have all the supplies on hand for a cute project! I don’t have a baby, but I still keep the house and car fully supplied with wipes!
