The DIY American Girl EOS Lip Balm is finally here! We have gotten a lot of requests for these and we have done a lot of trial and error. Finally we just walked through Hobby Lobby one day determined to find the perfect pieces. And we did! There are pictures below that show where in the store we found these at. Enjoy!
Materials Needed:
- Hot Glue
- Miniature Wooden Bowls 3/4″ 12pcs. *Hobby Lobby item #165431
- Dowel Caps 1/4″ 20 pcs. *Hobby Lobby item #621656
- Craft Paint
TIPS:
- For the EOS that closes all the way, I really had to scrap/sand out the inside of the top. It took a long time, but the end result was worth it.
- If you choose to make a few with the hot glue lip balm, be patient. You will get the shape you want if you just wait. Once you are happy with the shape, quickly stick it in the freezer so the shape stays while drying.
- If you have the tiny easter eggs, you can use two bottoms put together instead of the miniature wooden bowls.
Watch and tell us your favorite EOS flavor!

Please, can you make all of the videos off of you tube?
I am making the one that can open and close but I seem to be having some trouble. I have been sanding the inside of the miniature bowl for a LONG time but I haven’t seems my difference. Did you use sand paper? Or did you use something else?
cute#!
My dolls kit and Maggie would love the EOS that open and close!
I like the one that opens with the wooden dowel.

You’re welcome! #justcraftit
We are trying to make the EOS #1. Could you please share with us your method for scraping and sanding out the top? We have the bottom part completed, but we are having a hard time with the top. Thanks so much for your help!!
I used a Dremel with the piece 191 to carve it out. If you have an electric sander with one of the tiny sanding tips, you could probably use that too! Here is a Dremel. It’s a great tool to have, especially for tiny stuff! http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-7700-1-15-MultiPro-7-2-Volt/dp/B002BACCDA/ref=sr_1_1?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1454212328&sr=1-1&keywords=dremmel

?You’re welcome! All the requests are keeping us busy!
I love it!!!!!!!!!!
Option one was my favorite. can you find any wooden bowls at michaels?
I haven’t seen them at Michaels. They might be on Amazon.
I think that to red one is more realistic than the others, but I think that I will only be able to do the hot glue one. Thanks for this Awesome craft!
You’re welcome! EOS is popular, even for dolls!
the redish one is my favorite, it’s also my favorite flavor!
My favorite option would probably be the one that opens and closes, but I feel like the one filled with Hot Glue may be more doable for some people. I do like all of them, but those 2 would have to be my top 2 faves!
