Grace Thomas Bakery Island
Grace Thomas Bakery Island
I am getting really excited guys! My bakery is coming together! It’s been a little bit longer of a process than I thought it would be, but it’s still coming together! I’ve been working on two pieces recently. The sink/over combo and the Grace Thomas Bakery Island. I went through a little bit of a trial an error, but it was worth it! One thing I should mention, I opted out of the drawer on this piece. That is the only thing missing from the plans. You can of course add a drawer if you want, I just wanted to leave it without.

Step 4:
Attach the back of the shelfs by glueing and nailing each board into place.
Step 5:
Follow the diagram to make your top shelfs and then glue and nail into place.

Step 9:
Place the plexiglass on top of the legs and center it. When centered, mark a spot on the plexiglass where the middle of the leg is. Now drill a whole a little bit bigger than the screws you are using to hold the plexiglass into place.

My husband used your plans and built the bakery and display shelf. It is over the top beautiful. We are in the process of painting and priming it. We are using sherwinwilliams paint and matched the colors to Graces pastry cart accessories. Perfect match for the red and aqua colors. Still planning how to approach the pink and white floor. My husband put a removable ceiling and battery powered light i the ceiling. We purchased my generation kitchen refrigrrator, sink, and stove that is red and looks fabulous inside the bakery. This came with all the accessories and food etc.

I made something like this out of cardboard. It is more sturdy than I thought!

So the last few days I have made several pieces from cardboard, and I have been surprised too! I still prefer something like wood or MDF for long term use, but fun fast little crafts can be cardboard!
