A Gymnastics Incline Mat is the wedge where you can learn your tumbling on, back hand springs, back roll overs, and an aid when you are learning the bars, etc.  An Incline Mat is also know as a cheese mat.  Cheese Mats are an essential tool when learning gymnastics.  It is a must have for any gymnast.  This DIY is meant to show you how to make an incline mat for your doll in simple easy steps.

Materials Needed:

Vinyl 24″ x 10″ (I found mine at JoAnn’s on the clearance table!)
Duct Tape (I chose pink, the same color as my vinyl)
Scissors
1 piece of cardboard 9″x6″
Hot glue gun & several glue sticks
foam (see picture below)

  • 2 1/2″x6″
  • 5″x6″
  • 9 1/4″x6″

Regular Density Foam

    I love your ideas! Where can I get the foam for the incline cheese mat? Also, on the practice bar, did the wood on the bases come rounded or did you sand it to have the curvature? I’m hoping to make everything this weekend for my daugter before Christmas!
