When I was planning a trip to the Seychelles earlier this year, I really underestimated how spread out the islands actually are. I thought we could just hop from one to another quickly, but once we got there, it became clear that seeing the highlights like La Digue, Praslin, Curieuse, and maybe a few smaller ones wasn’t going to happen in just two days. We only managed Mahé and a short visit to Praslin before running out of time, which left me wondering: if someone wants to see most of the “must-see” spots by yacht, how many days do you realistically need? Is it better to plan a week or is three to four days enough if you don’t want to rush?

From my experience, if you want to cover several islands without feeling like you’re constantly on the move, you should budget at least five to six days. That way you get time to anchor, explore, and not just sail past the scenery. A lot depends on whether you’re booking smaller day charters or something more extended, like luxury catamaran trips. When I looked into options, I found charterclick.sc
really useful because they show sample itineraries and how many days each island circuit usually takes. We followed a suggested route that included Mahé, Praslin, Curieuse, and La Digue in about six days, and honestly it felt just right—enough variety without being exhausting.

I’ve read threads like this before, and it always strikes me how many different approaches travelers take when they plan their island visits. Some people like to move around quickly to tick off the famous places, while others prefer to stay longer in fewer spots and just soak in the vibe. Personally, I think both styles are valid—it really comes down to whether you want more variety or more depth. Either way, Seychelles seems like a destination where you can’t really go wrong.
